Passage: Hebrews 1:1

Bible Text: Hebrews 1:1 | Preacher: Daniel Rogers | Series: The Second Exodus

We will now begin examining several books of the Bible to see how the authors used the Second Exodus as the backdrop for their writings. The first one we will look at is Hebrews. If we recognize the New Exodus theme in Hebrews, then some of the passages tnat may seem hard to understand become more clear to us in this setting. The New Exodus is a theme that Jesus, Paul, Peter, John, and the other NT writers and speakers loved to utilize. We need to learn to love it too.

  1. Much obliged for the considerable homework put into these presentations. On the one hand, the bible study is substantial, on the other hand, the approach invites the listener to be free to critically consider it. Very refreshing. I was away from online audios for a couple months and on return I see no recent offerings, so I hope the coughs heard hereon have not proven to be predictive of vocal challenges. On the other hand, it may be that the great overarching scriptural themes being explicated here, especially the worship motifs from Exodus, the Temple and the New Passover, are requiring integrative retreat time. Well then, Godspeed…

    1. Mark!! in my eyes you are just using many words , they mean nothing.

Study the bible! , then your words will mean something!

  2. If one wishes to understand the biblical concept of eschatology, Daniel’s study of the Second Exodus from the Book of Hebrews is excellent. I suggest that you listen to this message at least twice in order to really grasp what the author of Hebrews taught concerning the “end times” of the Old Covenant World of Judaism, which “end times” ushered in the New Heavens and New Earth–God’s Messianic kingdom “in” and “through” Jesus. Have we appreciated the the teachings of the Second Exodus for every believer? If not, I suggest that you listen, once more, to Daniel’s excellent summary of the Book of Hebrews.
